As a fifth-generation New Zealander, born in Feilding and raised in Kimbolton, I’m committed to fair, informed, and balanced decision-making for all.
As a small business owner living in rural Manawatū, I have strong ties and a genuine commitment to the district. I’ve built businesses from the ground up and understand the realities of raising a family, managing a home, and running a business.
All people deserve practical, down-to-earth representation. I don’t claim to have all the answers, but I listen, learn, and will work hard for you. I’m committed to attending local events, supporting grassroots initiatives, and strengthening the rural heart of Manawatū. I bring honesty, experience, and a strong desire to serve.
About me
I was born in Feilding and raised in the rural community of Kimbolton, where I learned the value of hard work, family, and fairness. Today, I live in Tangimoana with my wife, where we’re renovating our home and enjoying life in a community that means a lot to us. I’m self-employed as the director of a small distribution company, and I understand the daily realities of running a business, managing a household, and planning for the future.
I come from a humble background — one of seven children — where money was tight, and resourcefulness was essential. That upbringing taught me to listen carefully, work with others, and focus on what really matters. I’m standing for Council because I believe my life experience gives me the ability to relate to people from all walks of life and the good sense to focus on balance, not extremes. I want to be a strong, fair voice for our district — especially for the rural communities that make Manawatū thrive.
Why I’m standing for council
Bad things happen when good people do nothing. I was raised here in the Manawatū District and value it. I’m standing for Council because I believe I can represent people from all walks of life in an open, respectful way. I have the life experience and the energy to make a difference. I want to see our communities thrive—ensuring that everyone has access to the basics, and that our investments in infrastructure deliver real value for today and for future generations.
Values
I value the same things as you — honesty, fairness, and practical leadership that puts our communities first. I believe in listening to locals, backing our farmers and small businesses, and making sure we spend our money wisely on the things that matter most: safe roads, resilient infrastructure, and strong local services. Like you, I want to see our rural voice heard, our towns supported, and our way of life protected for the next generation. When serving the community, my focus is on:
Fair and Balanced Decision-Making – Representing all voices with reason and respect
Support for Rural Communities – Standing up for the people who grow, build, and feed
Practical, Common-Sense Leadership – Solutions that work
Backing Farmers and Local Businesses – Keeping rural enterprise strong and independent
Down-to-Earth Representation – Approachable, honest, and grounded in lived experience
Strengthening Community Connections – Showing up, listening, and building trust
Accountability Through Action – Turning commitment into real outcomes
